Why:

• A species unfairly maligned and presecuted through history

  • Tall Tales: The Big Bad Wolf & the Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding-hood, The Boy Who Cried Wolf

  • Continue to be hunted for reasons not relevant to them

• Shy and secretive animal that will on occasion give you a glimpse into their lives

  • Could be at their own peril seeing they are still actively being hunted

• Revered by some cultures and hunted and killed by others

How is this going to be different:

• More artistic, less like documentary shots for text books

• Images of coastal wolves that aren’t typical to the species

  • Wide angle / camera trap: a more intimate glimpse of coastal wolves lives

  • Drone: strong scene setters, a more impactful approach to wolves in their environment

• Need three solid major events

  • Fishing for salmon

  • Beach kill (whale or sea lion)

  • ? (pup related)

How are you going to present the material:

• Chapters that highlight different aspect of their lives.

  • Patroling their territory

  • Unique hunting behavior: fishing for salmon

  • Raising pups

  • Persecuted due to inland grey wolves and caribou

• Geographical

  • Beach Ocean

  • Rainforest

  • Estuaries - Grasslands

  • Flats - Low tide

• Tie it to the three basic human instincts

  • Self preservation

  • Reproduction
